DISCUSSION The IP learning assessment makes it possible to highlight the benefits achieved after IP intervention, such as the development of IP skills, competencies and strategies. The descriptions of the studies selected by this review listed: development of skills; acquisition of new academic skills; improvement in relationships in the workplace (LAMBA et al., 2016), a significant effect on team performance (LIAW et al., 2019); negotiation skills; exercise of shared decision-making (KORNER et al.
better understanding of the roles of IP team members (FORD et al., 2013). Over the last thirty years, IPE has been a recurring theme in comprehensive patient care, especially in the United States and Europe (BATISTA, 2012), which has influenced the development of several study models on Furthermore, there is a lack of national empirical studies on collaboration, making it difficult to understand IP teamwork in the Brazilian context (AGRELI; PEDUZZI; SILVA, 2016). These data reveal why all selected studies and most of the articles excluded by this review had foreign origins.
